Tiffany Haddish Reacts To Reports She Lied About Ex-Husband’s Abuse By Pulling Out Receipts

Well, today is just depressing as all hell. Upsetting rape case updates left and right.  Blah.

Up next…a mixed bag.

Radar Online seems to have dug up an old restraining order, in which Tiffany wrote that husband William Stewart attacked her in July 2010 in Montreal.

“We were in Montreal, Canada, when he choked me in the stairway of the hotel. I ran away from him. I ran because he was trying to make me stay in the room. But I wanted to stay in the lobby and talk to my fellow comedians,” she penned.

“He ran after me and took me down to the ground,” she went on to note. ” I got free and then he got me again. I could not get out or yell for help because he was sitting on me.”
She also detailed another domestic violence dispute that took place in June 2011, in which she ended up with a “black eye, bruised neck, elbow, and back.”

“He body slammed me and choked me — threw me up against a wall,” Tiffany claimed.

She talked quite a bit about William in her memoir, The Last Black Unicorn.

“He grabbed me by the collar, he was like, ‘It’s time to go to the room now,’ in front of everybody,” she wrote.

“Just snatched me by my shirt, and pulled me to the elevator and threw me in it…once we got to our hotel room, he was so quick. He snatched me by the neck and slammed me into the wall.”

One night the abuse led to the alleged miscarriage. She hadn’t even known that she was pregnant.
All that aside, Tiffany admitted to embellishing a little bit in the book.

“I ain’t gon’ lie. Some stuff in the book is a little bit—I was like, ‘What?’” she explained. “I don’t know if when they edit, maybe they tweak things a little. So, then, in the audiobook, I’m like, ‘No, this is what it is.’”

William’s side of the story isn’t holding up though.

He told V-103 that he never physically abused her and had nothing to do with the miscarriage.

“I married Tiffany, her issues, and not the Hollywood lifestyle,” he stated. “I have never beat or hit or called a woman a ‘MF or B’ while having a disagreement ever in my life. I never caused a miscarriage, I have documents to prove this. Tiffany advised me about a month ago about the book and she told me that I would be furious.”

“I’m not gonna try to tear something down that I helped build,” William continued. “I just wanna come on this show to tell the truth. I have been seeking legal representation, I don’t wanna bring all the dirt out. Tiffany and I, I believe that we can settle this.”
William jumped onto Instagram last week to address all the mutterings, writing, "I ont [sic] want to respond to my character and my family matters in the book […] At this time I will not through [sic] dirt at Tiffany or release things that I know will harm her. I actually don't think this was all Tiffany's doings [sic]... I think people were telling her they need to add stuff to fluff it up. I have NEVER HIT or beat a woman in my life. I'm hurting and thanks."
