Report: Nelly Plans Lawsuit Against Woman Who Accused Him Of Rape After Prosecutors Drop Case

Nelly recently was able to move away from that alleged rape business due to a reported technicality.

TMZ claimed that the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office was unable to move forward with the rape case/with charging Nelly with the crime, as the alleged victim seems to have refused to help with the investigation.

Now, it seems that Nelly is going to sue the woman who accused him of sexual assault in a tour bus (in a Walmart parking lot).

According to Page Six, Nelly feels that his reputation has taken a serious hit since these unsavory stories started twirling back in October.

“Nelly has suffered very real damage to his reputation,” his attorney Scott Rosenblum noted.

“He has incurred economic loss and painfully has watched his family suffer. As a result, Nelly is planning to proceed with litigation as the first step in restoring his reputation. We were confident, that what our investigation revealed from the outset of this allegation would ultimately be clear and Nelly would be vindicated.”

“A thorough investigation did show Nelly was a victim of deceitful allegation devoid of credibility. Credible evidence did show this accuser to be deceptive. We have been in constant communication with the King County authorities and welcomed and appreciated the diligence in which the authorities proceeded. Leaving no stone unturned.”

“Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness,” the rapper’s attorney initially told TMZ.
“I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”

The woman’s lawyer, Karen Koehler, once shared that her client asked authorities to pause the investigation because she was fearful that Nelly’s celebrity status would prevent him from receiving any real punishment; it seems the alleged victim asked Auburn PD in Washington State and the King County D.A. to “put a halt to the criminal investigation of [Nelly]. She will not testify further in a criminal proceeding against him.”

“Who will believe her. People are saying horrible things already. She cannot handle this. She is about to break,” Karen explained.
“Police responded to and investigated a sexual assault allegation involving Mr. Haynes,” a statement from the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office read (per TMZ).

“However, within days of her initial report to police, the complainant, through her attorney, informed investigators from the Auburn police department that she did not wish to assist in prosecution or the investigation of Mr. Haynes.”
Don’t wait for his ex Ashanti to spill her reaction to this update though.
