Teen Mom Goes Shopping In Victoria’s Secret With Body Of Baby She Killed Stuffed In Her Handbag

After committing the sickening crime five-and-a-half years ago, the woman who suffocated her newborn baby and carried his body in a shopping bag to Victoria’s Secret to shoplift, has been handed her fate.

Now 21-year-old Tiona Rodriguez was sentenced to 16 years in prison on Thursday. She plead guilty to snuffing out the life of her 8-pound baby boy in the bathroom at a friend’s Queens apartment, before bringing the corpse with her to the lingerie store in Herald Square, on October 16th, 2013.

She was charged with murder. However, she struck a deal in Manhattan Supreme Court that earned her a reduced sentence for pleading guilty to manslaughter. Upon her release, she will be monitored on parole for five years.

“We hope [the sentencing] brings justice to the baby boy who never got to life his life,” Assistant District Attorney Chloe Kendall said in court on Thursday.

Rodriguez, who was 17 at the time of the killing, wore tan jail garb and white plastic rosary beads as she went before the judge. She shook her head and declined to speak when offered the chance.

“I don’t think anything more needs to be said on the record,” Justice Thomas Farber shared. “It’s a horribly sad and tragic case.”

Rodriguez also had a 2-year-old son at the time of the incident. Prosecutors said she also delivered a baby that immediately died in a bathtub in 2012 and that the cause of death was unknown.

No comment on that.

Another tragic case involving a child (or “children”, to be more precise) recently rose up to the headlines.

Police say children as young as one were victims of rape and subjected to acts of abuse, including being shot by a BB gun by their mothers and a group of men. 31-year-old Shakia Jackson, 22-year-old Danielle Hammond, 24-year-old Mark Isom, 28-year-old Daryl Carter and 23-year-old William Wade were among those charged in the case. (Daryl and Mark are brothers.)

The charges allege that one of the mothers performed a sexual act on the 2-year-old boy and that the kids were forced to watch the adults engage in sex acts with each other.

The children reportedly were assaulted with punches and slaps and were also thrown over a banister and shot with the guns.

Officers revealed that the three men and two women have been under investigation since last June.

Each defendant plead guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a felony of the third degree and one count of simple assault, which is a first-degree misdemeanor. They were all sentenced to nine to 23 months at the county prison in Concord, in addition to four years of consecutive probation.

Wade, who is a semi-professional football player and football coach at Bartram and Ben Franklin High Schools, "tearfully" apologized to the court and victims.

Cry us a river, sir.
