Mo'Nique Reacts To Backlash Over Defending Racist Roseanne By Explaining Exactly Why She Did It

You're really not helping yourself, Mo'Nique.

Mo'Nique recently surprised many after she publicly came forward in defense of Roseanne Barr, who went on a racist tirade against former President Obama aide Valerie Jarrett a few months ago.

“I remember when I had the ‘Mo’Nique Show,’ and there were big, major black superstar talent that had white representatives and they told their talent, ‘That show is too black and we really don’t want you to go on there,'” she recently told KTLA. “But there was a white woman named Roseanne Barr that showed up for me. … And they didn’t hear the conversation when the cameras weren’t rolling. … That woman was giving me some beautiful words.”

"My sister made a mistake and she said something I know she wishes she could take back," she continued. "But what I would ask is we don't throw her away."

In fact, she’d like to see Roseanne and Valerie “come together.”

Now, after noticing the heavy backlash she has received since she went out of her way to arguably defend Roseanne, the comedienne has ventured over onto social media to try to explain herself.

One user opened up with their insight, tweeting, "I’m not with you in this one Aunt @moworldwide. Roseanne is a bigot. And you may feel this way about her but I guarantee you that she doesn’t feel that way about you. I pray you see the truth about Rosenne."

Mo'Nique opted to respond, writing, "See when there was no cameras rolling and it was just me and that sister. She shared some things with me as a sister. I can't forget that conversation. And thanks for loving me even when we disagree. REAL SISTERHOOD."

That wasn't all. She told another disappointed fan that we should not be so hasty to "toss people out." "How does that help us in sisterhood?" she asked.

Did you miss Roseanne's vile message the first time around?

She called Valerie product of "Muslim Brotherhood" and "Planet of the Apes". And then she blamed Ambien...

So, do you think that Mo's clarification should cause a shift in how the situation is being perceived? Or is she just making herself look like a fool, again and again?

Issa "no" for us on this one. Roseanne is still cancelled.
