Kevin Hart Got Dragged For His Statement About Jussie Smollett's Hate Crime Attack

As we all know by now, actor Jussie Smollett was targeted in a racist and homophobic attack this week in Chicago.

TMZ reported that Smollett, who plays Jamal Lyon on Empire, was physically attacked by two men, who shouted ‘This is MAGA country’ as they poured bleach on him and put a noose around his neck.

They also mentioned some racial and homophobic epithets to him that we care not to repeat in this article.

Before Tuesday’s attack, ThatGrapeJuice.net shared Jussie first received threats through the mail a little over a week ago.

The envelope reportedly sent to Chicago’s FOX studio (where Empire is filmed), appeared to have the word MAGA listed in the upper left corner where the return address goes, then showed a monster or some sort of figure apparently putting a noose around another figure’s neck.

The letters clearly show that the attack was premeditated and it was racially motivated and homophobic attack.

Jussie took himself to Northwestern Memorial where he was treated. He was discharged later Tuesday morning.

In response to the horrible actions taken against the Empire star, Hart (like many other celebrities) took to social media to show and offer prayers .

First was Twitter:

Then veteran comedian moved over to Instagram to share a photo of Jussie Smollett with a caption that read: “Sending prayers your way @jussiesmollett ….This is unbelievably sad. Why are we going backwards….this is disgusting. We as people have to do better. WTF is going on the world???? Why are we falling in love with hate???? Got dang it people….Choose love…I repeat…Choose love. I will forever choose love and I will continue to teach my kids how to do the same. Stand strong brother.”

Sending prayers your way @jussiesmollett ....This is unbelievably sad. Why are we going backwards....this is disgusting. We as people have to do better. WTF is going on the world???? Why are we falling in love with hate???? God damn it people....Choose love...I repeat...Choose love. I will forever choose love and I will continue to teach my kids how to do the same. Stand strong brother

Seems nice, right?

Well the internet wasn’t here for Kevin Hart’s support after the entire backlash he’s been embroiled in the past 2 months. You know… those re-hashed 10-year-old homophobic tweets trolls found after he was named the host for the 2019 Academy Awards.

Hart then opted to step down from as the Oscars host and said he wasn’t going to apologize for the tweets before he apologized for them a long time along. (He has since apologized on multiple TV interviews over the past month).

After Kevin showed love to Jussie, the Internet opted to use this opportunity to educate him on why he shouldn’t have made those homophobic tweets to begin with.

One commenter response was: “This was done by people who also don’t want their son to play with a doll house because they think ‘that’s gay.’ In the same vein as you infamous tweets”

While this naysayer added: “This is why people were so enraged by your jokes and comments. Joking about abusing Queer POC is not okay. It adds to a culture that allows this kind of horrific crime to take place.”

And the public shamming didn’t stop there…

After all of the dragging by the internet, Kevin Hart decided to clap back on Twitter.

The Night School star wrote: “Operation spread love is in full effect damn it. I don’t condone or believe in hate, in fact I despise it. Hate makes me sick to my stomach…Its pointless. Cowards & weak individuals embrace it. I choose love…I love all of you. I challenge the rest of the world 2 do the same.”
