Jill Scott's Divorce From Husband Is Getting Really Ugly, According To New Court Documents

Jesus, Fix it Right Now!

Jill Scott claims her estranged husband, Mike Dobson, is trying to avoid answering questions by her legal team in their messy divorce. The singer has filed new documents requesting the judge issue a default judgement in her favor.

Scott's attorneys filed a motion last month for sanctions against Dobson, because she claims he is playing little games to avoid providing evidence in their divorce.

“Jilly from Philly” said Dobson and his attorney have refused to respond to requests to schedule a date for his deposition.

The singer claims in court documents that her estranged husband's refusal to schedule a deposition is Dobson's way of drawing out their divorce in order to receive an "inequitable settlement."

Scott pointed out that Dobson’s lawyer wants to set a date for her own deposition, but that her deposition date should have nothing to do with his. She is hoping the judge will punish Dobson for his refusal to provide evidence in the divorce case.

Scott is requesting that the court bar his responses in the divorce due to him dragging his heels and issue a default judgment in her favor.

She is also asking the judge to order Dobson to pay her attorney fees.

Mike is asking that a judge toss out their prenup agreement, which he claims he signed under duress.

He is asking for half of their marital assets, as well as $500,000 for pain and suffering incurred during their brief marriage.

Dobson's lawyer stated, "We look forward to our full day in court as the judge, this morning, thankfully did not decide on the validity of the prenuptial. That day will come in court later and we look forward."

Scott and Dobson were married in June 2016, splitting up just 15 months later. They share no children together.

The singer filed for divorce last September, citing irreconcilable differences and "inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper."

Scott and Dobson's split has been far from amicable, with both obtaining restraining orders against each other to put a stop to trash-talking.

Dobson claimed Jill had shared a mugshot of him with friends and accused him of being "gay" and a "con artist."

"She’s an evil woman," he once said. "I’m telling you. It’s like what Jill Scott wants, Jill Scott gets. People are in her ear, and if someone comes in to challenge the dumb [expletive], they made me be the bad guy and that got me outta there."
