Gary Owen Jumps Right Into The Katt Williams & Tiffany Haddish Drama With Some Unpopular Opinions

Who even asked you, Gary Owen?

Ugh.

Well, the comedian is chiming in on the Katt Williams-Tiffany Haddish drama. (Kevin Hart and Leslie Jones have too, by the way).

Need a recap? Katt stirred the pot by questioning whether or not Tiff deserves all the praise and attention she receives.

"She's been doing comedy since she was 16. You can't tell me your favorite Tiffany Haddish joke. Why? Because she ain't done a tour yet. She ain't done a special. She has not proven the ability to tell jokes back to back for an hour to nobody," Katt ranted, during an interview with V-103's Frank and Wanda In The Morning Show.

"They like her because she wanna sleep with a white man. That's why the only thing she said was I wanna give it to Brad Pitt. She said she's got a diseased vajayjay ain't nobody checking for that," he continued.

#KattWilliams is known for speaking his mind #Roommates! The comedian paid a visit to V-103, and let’s just say Katt had a lot to say about our girl #TiffanyHaddish, who he says has "not proven her ability to tell jokes" because she's yet to do a stand-up comedy tour or a special.

Tiffany’s response was pretty gracious, all things considered.

Staying on the high-road she displayed in her social media response, she kept the same energy when she saw him backstage at the 2018 Emmy Awards.

Anyway, Gary recently chatted it up on the #GetSome podcast and it seems he agrees with Katt’s assessment of Tiffany, more or less?

“I see where Katt’s going with this, ‘cause when you say somebody’s the “Queen of Comedy,” you’re thinking stand up. Tiffany is not known as a stand up,” he declared.

“She’s pretty much known from Girl’s Trip and that’s what took her to another level,” Gary then stated. “Very similar to Melissa McCarthy. She’s very much become the Black Melissa McCarthy. Melissa McCarthy came in with Bridesmaids.”

“Even though she’s been on Def Jam, and she had a Showtime special, and she just signed a deal with Netflix–you know, Katt did say something that was valid. He said, ‘tell me your favorite Tiffany Haddish joke.’ You can’t. She hasn’t done enough in the stand up realm that has stuck out.”

“Katt’s basically saying, ‘In my opinion, Tiffany wasn’t funny as a stand up,’ but I like Tiffany a lot. I do. But as far as stand up, I don’t think she’s the funniest stand up out there. But I’m not knocking her at all,” he shared.

“People will twist your words to say Tiffany isn’t funny. That’s not what I said at all. I said I don’t think that she’s the funniest stand up out there in my opinion,” Gary concluded.

So, do you think these opinions are based in reality or is there something else bubbling up to the surface–especially in regards to a Black woman reigning over the comedy realm?
