Report: Mother Allegedly Kills 4-Year-Old After She Talked Back — Then Tosses the Body in the Trash

A 31-year-old Florida mother named Tina Farrington suffocated her 4-year-old daughter and threw her body in a dumpster. Farrington has been charged with first-degree murder.

The body of Taina Paige was discovered by a man who was throwing out his garbage at the apartment complex on Monday.

The police report states that the man found Taina's body inside the trash bin at the Tuscany Place apartment complex southwest of Miami.

Farrington was held without bond Monday at the Miami-Dade County jail on a first-degree murder charge.

The mother allegedly suffocated Taina with a pillow on Halloween night after becoming angry with the little girl for talking back.

Tina was at home with her daughter and her younger brother when the murder too place at around 7 pm. The mother reportedly 'lured' Taina and her brother to her bedroom, where she used a pillow to suffocate her daughter.

Farrington hid Taina’s body in the trunk of her 2013 Nissan Altima until the foul odor became too much. Tina then decided to move Taina's body to the dumpster at around 1 am on Sunday.

Investigators said they discovered bruises on Taina's arms, legs and torso, even though her body had started to decompose.

Police stated that Farrington had confessed to killing Taina.

The father of Taina is a Miami Beach police officer named Leon Paige. He had been embroiled in a court battle with Farrington, after she had accused him of abusing their 2-year-old son.

Tina claimed back in June that Leon had hit the boy with a belt and had dropped the child off at daycare with "knots on his head."

A day after her arrest for murdering her young daughter, Tina appeared in Miami-Dade family court on Tuesday to state she still wants a restraining order against Paige. She wants to keep Paige from having contact with their son, who is now living with her mother following her arrest.

Judge Marcia Caballero refused to lift the restraining order against the Paige on Tuesday, setting a hearing date to reconsider for December 4th.

Court records show that Paige owes $26,000 in child support payments.

The judge ordered that the child's custody shall currently remain with his maternal grandmother, Hattie Farrington.
