Report: Jennifer Hudson's Ex-Fiancé David Otunga Cleared Of Domestic Violence Charges

Jennifer Hudson's former fiancé, David Otunga, will not be charged for an alleged domestic violence incident. The singer ended her relationship with the former wrestler in November, after 10 years together.

The split was anything but amicable. Jennifer accused David of getting physical with her and her son, obtaining a protective order against him. However, Otunga was cleared of domestic charges by police in Burr Ridge, Illinois.

Hudson filed for a protective order back in November. The singer claimed that David flew into a rage, grabbed their eight-year-old son David by the hand and roughly pushed her out of their master bedroom.

In the protective order filing, Jennifer stated, "I am afraid that D. Otunga will continue to physically intimidate and abuse me. He has a history of physical and emotional abuse, and I am afraid that his physical attacks will continue to escalate, especially due to the contentious nature of our parentage proceedings."

Jennifer even obtained a temporary restraining order over to the incident, which she dropped two weeks later.

Otunga's attorney hit back at the domestic violence claims at the time, claiming Jennifer was lying about the allegations because she was worried about losing custody of their son.

Otunga's attorney Tracy Rizzo stated, "David Otunga has been trying to negotiate the terms of an amicable parenting agreement with Ms. Hudson for several weeks now. However, when it became apparent to Ms. Hudson that Mr. Otunga would be the parent granted residential care of the child, as a result of Mr. Otunga being the child's primary caregiver while Ms. Hudson pursues her career all over the world, Ms. Hudson decided to file a merit-less Petition for Order of Protection in an effort to gain an unfair advantage in the custody dispute."

His lawyer adds, "As a result of Mr. Otunga's career in the WWE, Ms. Hudson felt that she could give an award winning performance in court to portray herself as the victim. Mr. Otunga has never abused or harassed Ms. Hudson or their son, and it is unfortunate, especially in today's climate, that she would feel the need to make these false allegations against him. Mr. Otunga looks forward to his day in court and in being awarded the residential care of the parties' only child."

fter being together for almost 10 years, #JenniferHudson and her fiancé #DavidOtunga have called it quits. #Hudson was also granted a restraining order against him. .

Hudson later dropped the order of protection, but made it clear that she simply wanted to remove the matter from the courtroom and work together to do what is best for their child.

Jennifer requested a court order to prohibit David from disseminating photos or making comments about their son.

Otunga claims that the 36-year-old singer had violated the order by giving an interview to an entertainment news show, which showed photos of David Jr., and mentioned him.

Otunga wanted Hudson to be found in civil contempt of court and sanctioned for her actions.
