WATCH: Damon Wayans Shares The Very Real Reason He Is Suddenly Quitting FOX's 'Lethal Weapon' — Video

First of all, did you know that Damon Wayans is 58-Years-Old? Black truly does not crack!

The legendary Comedian/actor is putting a condo on his wrist and cashing out on Fox’s Lethal Weapon.

During an interview with Eurweb to promote season 3 of the hit show, the actor revealed unexpectedly that he’s quitting the series toward the end of the program’s filming schedule.

"I’m going to be quitting the show in December after we finish the initial 13,” he said. “So I really don’t know what they’re planning, but that’s what I’m planning. I’m a 58-year-old diabetic and I’m working 16-hour days.”

Wayans’ casual delivery of the sudden announcement had the interviewer asking, “So you’re over it?”

Referencing his show character (first made famous by Danny Glover in the Lethal Weapon movie franchise), Wayans says, “I’m done. Like Murtaugh said, I’m too old for this.”

He added, "I’m going to return to the stage and try to find my smile again.

With his mother and daughter both undergoing surgery recently, Damon continued to explain that Lethal Weapon also put a strain on his personal life.

"It's hard for me to play this loving, supportive father, husband, friend on TV, and be the guy in life that is telling everyone, 'I can't. I have to work,'" he said. "You have to look yourself in the eye and go, 'Who are you?' It can't be all about work. I'm from a big family, a loving family. I haven't seen them. All the family gatherings, I'm too tired or I can't because it conflicts with work."

Well…to be honest this news is surprising, but not shocking.

Damon’s sudden announcement of him leaving comes months after Clayne Crawford, who previously played his partner on the show as Martin Riggs, was fired due to on-set behavioral issues.

Crawford & Damon, especially didn’t get along. During an episode that Clayne was directing, Wayans suffered an injury on his head due to an improperly moderated explosion with left him with a wound on the back of his head.

Crawford was replaced over the summer with actor Sean William Scott in a different role.

When the reporter asked him about how his cast-mates would feel about it, he insinuated he was more concerned about what he was doing, rather than what they’re up to.

"I really don't know what they're planning but that's what I'm plannin'."
