Reports: Singer/Reality Star Chanté Moore Accused Of Stealing 3.6 Million Dollars To Finance New Album

So weird.

Singer Chanté Moore is in a bit of legal trouble. She is being accused of using millions of dollars in stolen money to finance her “comeback”.

The Blast says that the unnamed accusers say she knowingly accepted money that was fraudulently obtained by a criminal enterprise. She may have used it to produce her latest album and artificially inflate her sales.

The guys who were ripped off insists that their money was used to open a hair bar in Georgia, buy a house and support her career.

Specifically, the lawsuit claims money was stolen and used to buy plane tickets for her musical tour, lavish her with gifts, fund the production of and marketing campaign for her seventh album, “The Rise of the Phoenix,”, as well as to “pay off her significant personal debt.”

The plaintiffs state that there is no way she wasn’t aware that the money was stolen.

So they want it back.

The lawsuit also reportedly says since money was used to “artificially enhance” her album sales through iTunes purchases, they believe they are entitled to any profits from the record.

She denies this and wants the case thrown out, a report says.

More musicians in weird money situations news!

Da Brat has yet to pay a dime to the former cheerleader she was found liable for hitting in the face with a bottle years ago, a judge has ruled she must pay an additional $1 million.

She was sued by ex-NFL cheerleader Shayla Stevens over the incident (two years after the fact), which went down in a nightclub in 2007; Da Brat hit Shayla in the face with a bottle of rum, causing permanent scarring and neurological damage.

The jury decided to award Shayla $6.4 million.
Since Da Brat never actually opened up her checkbook, Shayla has gone ahead and filed documents in California (although the original lawsuit was filed in Georgia). Evidently, registering in California allows Shayla to go after the rapper’s assets and property in the state.

The interest on Da Brat’s original amount owed has bounced up to $1,306,301.37. She currently owes Shayla a total of $7,806,736.37.
