Cardi B Finally Explains Why She Rolled Up On Nicki Minaj During Fashion Week And Brought The Smoke

Why did Cardi B choose to get into it with Nicki Minaj at a New York Fashion Week event, of all places?

In a new interview with W Magazine, the rapper has a response for those who feel the Harper’s BAZAAR Icons Party was an inappropriate backdrop for such a confrontation.

“So many people want to say that party wasn’t the time or the place, but I’m not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or down the block,” she shared.

Of course we all saw this confrontation coming a long time ago as Cardi and Nicki have long been rumored rivals.

Complex says that the nonsense between these two dates back to March 2017 when Cardi B joined a performance by fellow anti-Nicki rapper Remy Ma at Hot 97’s Summer Jam Festival.

However, the drama reached its breaking point, when both collaborated with the Migos on the hit song "Motorsport," which ultimately led to a confirmation from Nicki herself that all was not well between the two divas.

Cardi actually felt their issues had been sorted out at one point though?

“I spoke to her twice before, and we came to an understanding. But she kept it going,” Cardi shared.

Cardi believes that Nicki supposedly lobbed a shot at her by questioning her parenting choices in regards to her adorable daughter with Offset, Kulture. Nicki has repeatedly denied this though.

On her Beats 1 Queen Radio Show last month, Nicki said:

“The other night I was part of something so mortifying and so humiliating to go through in front of a bunch upper echelon… people who have their life together,” she explained. “The way they passed by looking at this disgusting commotion. I was mortified.”

“I was in a Gaultier gown—off the [expletive] runway—and I could not believe how [humiliating] it all felt because we… made ourselves look—and Imma get back, but before I go, I wanna say that I would never discuss anyone’s child,” Nicki insisted. “I just want people to know that Onika Tanya Maraj has never, will never… speak ill on anyone’s child. I am not a clown”.

“I just want everybody to marinate for two minutes…. But we did hear this woman say that nothing’s off limits… because she has built her career off of sympathy and payola,” she went onto to say.

Anyway, Cardi then mentioned how much motherhood has molded her decisions since she gave birth a few months ago.

“I was going to make millions off my Bruno Mars tour, and I sacrificed that to stay with my daughter,” Cardi noted of her decision to bow out of co-headlining the tour with the popular singer. “I love my daughter. I’m a good-[expletive] [expletive] mom. So for somebody that don’t have a child to like that comment?”

Well, in any case, Cardi is staying busy. She also has legal woes to work out, thanks to a reported fight at a Queens, New York adult club not long ago.

Do you think Cardi’s reasoning for trying to put her hands on Nicki checks out?
