Parents Charged After 2-Year-Old Daughter Left The House & Froze To Death On Their Porch — VIDEO

Two parents in Akron, Ohio have been charged with felony child endangerment after their 2-year-old daughter froze to death on their front porch in February.

Officers were called to Doty Drive on Feb. 2 after 22-year-old Tierra M. Williams found her daughter, Wynter Parker, outside in the cold.

Tierra M. Williams and Dariaun D. Parker, 24, were charged Tuesday and will appear in Akron Municipal Court on Friday at 12:30 p.m. for an arraignment hearing.

Wynter, age 2, was found unconscious on her front porch by her mother in February. The little girl was without a coat, hat or gloves in the freezing temperatures of 12 to 19 degrees that day.

The mother told police that she left her daughter with her father while she ran errands. However the father, who works nights, fell asleep.

Tierra said she was gone for about two hours, when the toddler apparently wandered outside of the home.

She returned at 3:30 pm to find Wynter unresponsive on the porch and called police.

Tierra told the 911 operator that she wasn't sure how long the little girl had been outside in freezing weather.

In the frantic 911 call, the mother told the dispatcher, "My daughter, she was outside! My daughter, she’s not breathing! She is ice cold! She’s not responding to me! She's frozen! She's frozen!"

The mother was instructed on how to perform CPR on the child.

The child was rushed to Akron Children's Hospital where she later died.

Parker suffered severe hypothermia, according to the medical examiner's office.

Neighbors revealed they often saw the two children of the home, a girl and her older brother, playing outside without parental supervision.

Neighbor Crystal Lucas stated, "I’ve had to take the baby home ’cause she’ll be outside playing. It was a few times that I had to take both of her kids home."

Police came to Lucas' door to ask about the children.

"It was freezing and that was my biggest worry when the cops came, when they started asking about the kids, they didn’t divulge what was really going on, but when he asked about the kids, obviously something was going on and I was worried," Lucas said.

Lucas adds, "I cried because I just don’t understand how a two year old could be outside and you not know."
